Chris Parisi's Pick of The Week

This week’s pick is perfect if you’re looking for a little something sweet. Documented in various forms in the early 17th century, the name nectarine literally translates as “sweet as nectar.” So closely related are they to peaches, that the seeds of both peaches and nectarines can actually grow into trees that bear either fruit. That said, nectarines are not to be confused with their fuzzy cousins. Due to a gene difference, nectarines are totally smooth and tend to be smaller, firmer, and more aromatic than peaches. Think of them as nature’s sweetest treat!
