PARISI MARKET UPDATE

FRUIT PICK OF THE MONTH – APPLES 
With Autumn upon us, the summer season stone fruits (even though still available) will be ending and will not be as good as they have been in previous weeks.

My pick of the month is APPLES! With an abundance of varieties such as:

-     Royal gala
-     Red Fuji
-     Pink Lady
-     Golden Delicious
-     Granny Smith

When picking an apple, it’s important to remember to look for the “new season” display ticket! If you are buying “new season” apples it will mean they have been freshly picked and not stored.

You want to look for a high coloured fruit and my secret is to tap the apple with your finger nail, you will hear a slight “ding” if it is a good apple. A bad apple will have some sound effect, meaning it will be soft and floury inside.
